Sarah Roy

It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah Catherin Roy announces her passing after a two year battle with cancer, on August 4, 2018, at the age of 29 years.

A native of Brandon, MS, Sarah married her best friend, soulmate, and fellow nerd Colin Roy in 2011. She found great joy in helping her patients as a Physical Therapy Assistant and in fostering kittens. Sarah was an inspirational person, sharing faith, hope, and love to her family, friends, and many others who were touched by her life. She was a strong Christian, and the Lord was her strength in great adversity. She bravely faced her illness, and never let go of her hopes and dreams.

Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her husband of seven years, Colin, her parents Richard and Marilyn Johnston, her brother Stephen (Christin), her sister Sharon (John), her sister Sandra and her maternal grandmother, Mary Allen. Sarah will also be fondly remembered by her mother in-law Cathryn and her brothers-in-law Ricky (Arika) and Cliff (Melissa). A host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 1360 W. Government St, Brandon.

A celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Thursday, August 9, at 10:00 a.m., at the old First Baptist Church of Brandon sanctuary, 309 South College Street. Interment will follow in the family plot at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
