Sarah Jo Wilks, 65, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, after her battle with cancer.
Ms. Wilks loved, and was loved by many. She graduated from JB Pennington High School and later, worked at EATON in Arab. She was a cosmetologist, but Ms. Wilks was most proud of her job as Mimi.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Troy Wilks and mother, Lois Evon Denney Wilks.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Wilks Kilgo, son-in-law, Wesley Kilgo of Brandon, MS; granddaughter, Whitley Kilgo; grandson, Barrett Kilgo. She also leaves behind 3 sisters, Carolyn Bryson, Brenda Wilks and Sandy (Robert) Chamness; brother, Glen Wilks; and nieces, Suzy Hunt, Sheryll Griffin, Karen Millwood, Layla Foshee and Tyla Wilks; great nieces and great nephews and one great-great nephew. Ms. Wilks will be remembered for her unconditional love, strength and wit.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at the Old Greenhouse in Arab, Alabama on the afternoon of Saturday, October 14. 2017,(exact time to be posted on Facebook).
