Funeral services are 2pm today, August 14, 2010 at Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison with burial in the Polkville United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Polkville, MS. Rev. Jerry Dillon, Rev. Jimmy Cain, Rev. Lance Foster and her brother, Rev. Troy Oliver will officiate the services. Mrs. Herrington is a native of San Angelo, Texas and was a resident of Byram, MS for the past 20 years. She was a member of Parkway Pentecostal Church in Madison, MS and a former member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. She taught Sunday school and was a choir member for many years under Lanny Wolfe. She worked for 17 years for Jitney Jungle Supermarket in Jackson and won 2nd in the nation as cake decorator in a contest that she entered. She later worked part time for Vowell’s Market in Byram, until she became sick. She was a Bible Scholar, and Prophecy was of major interest. She was an artist, short story writer and a poet.Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Bob Herrington of Byram; son, Bobby R. Herrington, Jr. and wife, Monica; grandson, Landon of Polkville, MS; daughter, Nancy Lassiter and husband, Kenneth of Crystal Springs, MS; grandson, Jacob and granddaughter, Jade; daughter, Suzzette Rushing; grandsons, Shane Rushing and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Baylor; grandson Darian Rushing, grandson, Sean Patrick Rushing and wife Breanna and great grandson, Kegin; great granddaughter, Bralan; daughter, Angela Pickering and husband, Lynn, grandchildren, Spencer and Paige of Byram; daughter, Debra Harrison and husband, Chris; grandson, Stephen of Polkville. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Eudy; brother, Rev. Troy Oliver and nephew, Terry Schenck. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Madison and parents, Lee Roy Oliver and Lottie R. Harris Oliver. Sharon was a Christian in every since of the Word, our loss is Heavens gain. God Bless all the telephone calls, cards and Prayers from our many friends.
