Mrs. Sheila Quay Bynum Bowman, age 62 passed away at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS on January 11, 2017. Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with Rev. Rick Hammerstrom presiding. Visitation was held from 12pm until 2:45pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home with the interment following the funeral service at the Bowman Family Cemetery on Haynes-Chapel road.
Sheila was born to her parents, Mr. J.W. Bynum and Mrs. Bobbie Quay Jennings Ushry on July 31, 1954 in Mendenhall, MS. She was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church of Pelahatchie, MS. Sheila loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved mud-riding of any kind such as 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, etc. She love country music and music in general and she loved to dance, she loved her job, her family and friends; she always had a smile and kind words to everyone she met. She had a generous and hardworking spirit and would help do what anyone asked her to do and she loved getting tickled a things.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her step-father, M. G. Ushry and mother-in-law Dorothy Hendricks.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Bowman; her parents, J.W. Bynum and Bobbie Quay Jennings Ushry; and step-mother, Dorothy Bynum; her daughter, Gail (Leslie) Johnson of Jackson; her sisters, Jeannie (Curtis) Coleman, of Pelahatchie, Wanda (Walter) Burns of Pearl, Kathy (Bobby-deceased) Keith of Petal, MS; brothers, Joe Bynum (Brenda) of Pelahatchie and Ken Bynum (Donna) of Petal; her grandchildren, David Hall and Dillon Hall; her great-grandchildren, Bentlee Ward and Zoey Hall; her lifelong best friend, Charlene Suttle; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Bynum, Brian Hall, Kevin Hall, Austin Bowman, Ken Bynum, Josh Steverson, and honorary pallbearers were David Hall and Dillon Hall.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.
