Shelby Donald

Shelby J. Pope Donald, age 81, a resident of Pearl, MS passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment at Clifton Baptist Church Cemetery in Scott County, MS. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am Wednesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home.

Mrs. Donald was born February 7, 1939 to Ralph E. Pope and Geneva Calhoun Pope in Scott County, MS. She was married to Richard Douglas Donald, Sr. She was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Mrs. Donald enjoyed gardening, taking care of her “Richard”; She loved cooking and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Donald was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph E. Pope and Geneva Calhoun Pope; step son, Edward Crisler Donald and grandson, Christopher Kyle Copeland.

Mrs. Donald is survived by her husband of 34 years, Richard Douglas Donald; her children, Richard Douglas (Sandra) Donald, Jr., Barney Oliver (Lisa) Donald and Carmelita Jewel Sumrall; brother, Ralph (Dawn) Pope; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
