Shelby Thompson, 86, passed away Thurs. April 14, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. April 15, 2016 from 5pm-8pm and on Sat. April 16, 2016 from 9am-9:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Sat. April 16, 2016 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Mr. Thompson was born in Morton, MS and has been a resident of Pearl, MS for 43 years. Mr. Thompson was an active member of the Pearl First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS and he retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Thompson; daughter, Lydia Thompson Hampton (Clyde); two grandchildren, Chad Hampton (Tiffany) and Ashley Hampton Rushing (Wesley); three great grandchildren, Kate Hampton, Madison Rushing and Aubrey Rushing; three sisters, Catherine Shoemaker, Oleta Cooper, Peggy Huggins and one brother, Julius Thompson. Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his son, Michael Thompson; sister, Laura Barnes and three brothers, Felix Thompson, Jimmy Joe Thompson and William Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 232 Market St, 2nd Floor, Flowood, MS 39232 (www.alz.org/ms/).
