Sherryl Lynn Monroe Hoover, 60, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Merit Health Rankin. Visitation will be 12 – 2 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Crestview Memorial Gardens with graveside services at 2pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Sherryl lived in the Pearl-Brandon area for over the last 40 years. She was employed by the Rankin County School District as a secretary at McLaurin Elementary. She enjoyed her job, the comradery with her co-workers and serving the children at the school. Although her job was one of the most important things in her life, the most important thing in Sherryl’s life was her relationship and love of her daughter, Jennifer, her three granddaughters; Gabrielle, Sydney, and Lily, and her son in law, Gerald. Sherryl had many hobbies, including camping, boating, watching movies with her grandchildren, and talking. She never met a stranger.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Gerald) Duckworth; mother, Merle V. Monroe; granddaughters, Gabrielle Duckworth, Sydney Duckworth and Lily Duckworth; brother, Kevin Monroe; brother-in-law, Bill Adams; niece, Sarah Adams; nephew, Corey Adams; great-nieces, Sadie Norwood and Maddie Norwood. She is also survived by Gail and Ronnie Toal. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde J. Monroe; husband, Mike Hoover; her sister, Christine Adams; and her sister-in-law Evelyn Monroe.
