Shirley Jones

Shirley Ann Jones, age 83, a resident of Forest, died Friday, December 27, 2019, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm  Monday, December 30, 2019, from the Forest United Methodist Church with Reverend David Slaughter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10am to till the service time at Forest United Methodist Church.  The final resting place is in the Homewood Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was born on  Sunday, January 19, 1936, in Forest to her parents, Sam Wilkerson and Autense Lott Wilkerson.  She was a member of the Forest United Methodist Church.  She had retired at Raytheon.   She later worked at the Back Forty Restaurant where she enjoyed hosting friends and renewing acquaintances from her past.  She was known for her friendly personality. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and visiting friends.   She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  a son, Rocky Jones, and her former spouse, Eddy Jones.

Survivors include her 3 children; Rodney Jones (Beth) of Collierville, TN.,  Jay A. Jones of Brandon, Shuntau Townsend of Forest.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, Tony Wilkerson of Forest and Jimmy Wilkerson of Madison.  She leaves a legacy of 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as a host of friends.

Pallbearers are Jay Anthony Jones, II  Preston Woods, Michael Banks, Joshua Jones, and Garrett Jones.

Services will be provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
