S. M. “Pete” Bailey Jr., 85, passed away Tues. June 14, 2016 at the Mississippi State Veteran’s Home in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Thurs. June 16, 2016 from 5pm-7pm and Fri. June 17, 2016 from 10am-10:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Fri. June 17, 2016 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson, MS.
Mr. Bailey was born in Smith County, MS, and has been a resident of Brandon, MS since 1988 after moving from Jackson, MS. He was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Mr. Bailey served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a retired barber and worked at California Barber and Style in Byram, MS. Mr. Bailey was a very loving family man who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Merian Bailey; two children, Tony D. Bailey (Cathy), and Pamela K. Robbins; five grandchildren, Tyler Robbins (Brittany), Zach Robbins (Blythe), Amanda Bailey, Lauren McDaniel and Jay McDaniel; four great grandchildren, Braden Robbins, Jaden Robbins, Raelan Robbins and Reed Robbins; a brother, Voyce Herrington Bailey (Margarette) and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Oree Bailey; son-in-law, Mike Douglas Robbins and a grandchild, Catherine Nicole Bailey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leaf River Cemetery Association c/o Ann Lancaster at 264 SCR 501-5 Forest, MS 39074.
