Morton, MS
Sonia Shoemaker, age 51, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Ott & Lee in Morton. Church service will be held 10am Friday, September 20, 2024 at Polkville First Baptist Church. There will be NO graveside service and burial will be in Polkville Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Will McNeese will officiate the service.
Sonia was born in Hinds County on June 21, 1973. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and quilting. Her favorite color was purple and she loved having a good cold Dr. Pepper. Sonia enjoyed taking care of her rose bushes and plants. She had the love in her heart to help people and take care of them as she could.
She is preceded in death by her dad, Johnny Carol Meadows.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Diane Sonnenberg Meadows; children, Ja Shoemaker of Polkville, Tamara Shoemaker (Keith) of Polkville and Amber Shoemaker of Polkville; siblings, Bradley Meadows (April) of Polkville and Sidney Meadows of Polkville; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Russ Shoemaker, Will Burnside, Sidney Meadows, Jr., Leland Mcgehee, Steve Pruitt and J.J. James.
