Stacy Dee Hollifield was born in Hammond, Louisiana on July 1, 1965. She passed away on July 27, 2019 at her home in Albany, Kentucky.
Stacy grew up in Forest, and lived in Jackson, until after the passing of her mother, when she moved to Pensacola, and eventually relocated to Kentucky.
She will be remembered for her kindness, and selfless willingness to always think of others above herself. A nostalgia of watching old movies often kept Stacy occupied for countless hours, as she enjoyed the simple things of life: a roof over her head, food on her table, and shoes on her feet. She loved animals and always doted on her pets. Family was a vital part of her life and she loved them very much; she was a “sister with a heart of gold, devoted friend, and caretaker of our Mother in time of need.” Stacy was member of the Forest High School Bearcat Band, and a member of the Forest United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Tip and Julia Bishop, and her grandparents: Clyde and Bonnie Morgan.
Survivors include three brothers: Jerry (Cheryl) Hollifield; Mark (Liz) Hollifield; Lee (Margaret) Hollifield; one uncle: Clyde Morgan; and one aunt: Joanna Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 295 East First St., Forest, MS.
A time of visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and continue until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the funeral home.
Additionally, a brief visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, prior to the service.
The feelings of the transition for our dear Stacy can be summed up in the following lyrics by the band, Slaughter in their song entitled:
“Fly to the Angels”
Pictures of you
Ohh they're still on my mind
You had this smile
That could light up the world
Now when it rains it seems
The sun never shines;
And I drive
Down this lonely, lonely road
Oooh I got this feelin'
Girl I gotta let you go;
Cause now you've got to fly high (fly high)
Fly to the angels
Heaven awaits your heart
And flowers bloom in your name
You've got to fly,
Fly to the angels
All the stars in the night
Shine in your name;
Though it hurts me way deep inside
When I turn and look and find
That you're not there
I try to convince myself
But the pain,
The pain is still not gone;
Still I drive
Down this lonely, lonely road
Oooh I got this feelin,
Girl I've got to let you go;
But now you've got to fly
Fly to the angels
Heaven awaits…
