Laverne McMahon

Mrs. Laverne McMahon passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on January 15, 1947, to Carl and Stella M. Turner Waggoner in Morton and have lived in and around the Morton area all her life. Laverne was a Christian by faith, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Morton. Laverne loved her church and was always willing to help when needed, she was also incredibly supportive of the crisis center in Forest, MS.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Carl and Stella M. Waggoner, and brother, Bobby Waggoner.

Survived by her husband, Jerry McMahon, son Robert Brent Thompson, his wife, Sonya Thompson; sister, Virginia Thompson, her husband, Junior Thompson; two grandchildren, Lex Anna Anderson, her husband, Brady Anderson, and Landry Thompson.

Visitation will be 1:00pm to 1:55pm, with the Funeral Service starting at 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS. Bro. Shayne Wilkinson will be officiating the Services. Serving as pallbearers are, Brady Anderson, Clay Saggus, Terry Aycock, David Hollingsworth, Kerry Waggoner, and Brady Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers are Junior Thompson, and Adam Wolverton. Burial will be at Morton Memorial Gardens.
