Stephen Rawson

Stephen Mills Rawson, age 60, a resident of Flowood, MS passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation was held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Monday, September 20, 2021, at Flowood Baptist Church in Flowood, MS with interment that followed in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Monday at the church.

Mr. Rawson was born May 15, 1961, in Jackson, MS to Orville Hoyt Rawson and Telatha Stephens Rawson. He was married to Virginia Gray Rawson. Mr. Rawson was self-employed as a truck driver. He was a member of Flowood Baptist Church in Flowood, MS. Mr. Rawson was a devoted Christian, loving husband, excellent stepdad, son, and mechanic. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and being with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Rawson was preceded in death by his mother, Telatha Stephens Rawson; granddaughter, Taelynn Wigley; maternal grandparents, Beatrice and Lacey Stephens; paternal grandparents, Beatrice and Mills Rawson; uncles, Tommy, Lester, and Allen Stephens; aunt, Jane Hudspeth; father-in-law, Wayne Gray; and brother-in-law, Richard Gray.

Mr. Rawson is survived by his wife of 20 years, Virginia Rawson; father, Hoyt and Sarah Rawson; sister, Lucinda Rawson; children, Kasey (Jason) Wigley and Justin (Amy) Brasher;  grandchildren, Jayden and Brookley, Wigley, Ryleigh, Hunter, and Alexis Brasher; uncle, Curtis Rawson; aunts, Omega and Jane Stephens; mother-in-law, Charlotte Gray; sister-in-law, Deborah (Mike) Franzen; nieces, Kaylee and Kendall Franzen; special cousin, Tanya Rawson; best friend, Wayne McCullough and many other cousins and friends.
