Steve Lampkin, age 57, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Lackey Hospital in Forest. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services will be held 2pm Sunday, February 6, 2022 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton.
Burial will be in Allen Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Paul Smith officiating.
Steve was born in Scott County on September 3, 1964. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and taking care of his game chickens. Steve was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, loved going to cemeteries looking at stones and cleaning them. He enjoyed looking at Genealogy and was a gun collector. Steve loved animals and especially his dog, Ben. He never met a stranger and had friends every where he went. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Odell Lampkin; grandparents, Simp & Agnes Lamkin and Andrew & Frankie Brewer; sister-in-law, Elena Lampkin; father-in- law & mother-in-law, Clyde & Mary Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Lampkin of Morton; mother, Ida Ellaweeze Lampkin of Morton; sister, Leann Lampkin Dennis (H. Scott) of Brandon; brother, William J. “Jeffery” Lampkin of Ludlow; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, David and Angela Varnes; niece & nephew, Parker Lamkin Dennis and Katie Elizabeth Dennis; a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Paul Irby, Mark Davis, Glen Brewer, Terry Fletcher, John David Jones and Randy Shoemaker.
Honorary pallbearers will be SCV Camp 265 Rankin Rough and Readies.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mississippi Wounded Warriors.
