Stewart S. "Butch" Roberts

Stewart S. “Butch” Roberts, Sr., passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024. He was born in Blackton, Arkansas, on July 20, 1941, to Andrew Stewart Roberts and Lula Bernice Dunavan Roberts, and moved to the Jackson area in 1968. He retired from Entergy of Mississippi in April of 2004. He married Katherine Warren, and together they had five children, David, Douglas, Timothy Brian, Stewart Jr., and Sheri.

He was a member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl, Mississippi. He coached little league football, baseball, and basketball for the Boys Club of Pearl. He coached softball as well. He was a member of the Pearl Jaycees when Pearl became a city.

Stewart is survived by his children, David L. Roberts, Stewart S. Roberts, Jr., and Sheri C. Robinson of Pearl, Mississippi, and Douglas D. Ford of Norfolk, Virginia; sister, Patricia Scarbrough of West Memphis, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Keith Roberts, Rebecca Roberts, Patricia Roberts, Rose Roberts, Richard Roberts, Cameron Ford, Monica Ford, Samantha Ford, Addison Robinson, and Peyton Robinson; and multiple great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine Roberts; son, Timothy Brian Roberts; and brother, Lynn Roberts.

Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm and on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 12:00 until 1:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday in the chapel. Mr. Roberts will be laid to rest in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
