Annie Sue Walton Hatch, age 89, an educator, business woman and civic volunteer, passed away at Lackey Convalescent Center in Forest, MS on Saturday September 27, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Tuesday September 20, 2011 from the Forest Baptist Church, with interment in the Hillsboro Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8 pm Monday September 19, 2011. Rev. Scott Fortenberry and Dr. Gordon Sansing will be officiating the services.

Mrs. Hatch was born January 26, 1922 in Carthage, MS., the daughter of Clyde and Mamie Wilbanks Walton. She graduated from Carthage High School and attended East Central Junior College in Decatur, MS., Mississippi State University, and the University of Southern Mississippi.

While in college she met and married McLain Hatch of Forest. After Mr. Hatch returned from World War II, they settled in Forest. Mrs. Hatch taught school at Carthage, Harperville, Lena, Sebastopol and Forest, MS She also worked in the Forest City Hall. They were active members of Forest Baptist Church and various civic groups.

Mrs. Hatch was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mclain Hatch, and her parents, and a brother, Brian Walton.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Hatch Parkes (Alan) of Philadelphia, MS, two sons, Darwin Hatch (Shelia) of Forest, MS., and Mike Hatch (Meg) of Clinton, MS. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Paige Parkes Rudolph, Carrie Parkes Hoxie, Shelley Hatch Wright, Melanie Hatch, Lindsay Hatch, Mark Hatch and Michelle Hatch George. Her great grandchildren are Brack Rudolph, Georgia Claire Rudolph, Olivia Rudolph, Hayden Hoxie and Lexie Hoxey.
Mrs. Hatch is also survived by her sister, Nancy Thomas of Madison, Ms.., extended family and friends.

The family wisehs to thank Dr. John Paul Lee, the staff of Lackey Convalescent Center and Beehive Homes of Forest for their attentive care of our Mother.

Pallbearers will be Ben Rudolph, Mark Hatch, Norman Q. Thomas, Jerry Wright, Ronnie Fortenberry, and Keith Bustin.

Memorial can be made to the Forest Baptist Church Youth Programs.
