Susan Dabbs

Susan Diane Dabbs passed away quietly in her home in Brandon, MS to be with her Heavenly Father on August 23, 2018 after a brief illness.

Visitation will be 5-8pm on Monday, August 27 and starting at 9am on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Services will follow at 10am Tuesday, in the chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will follow in the Mississippi State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.

Susan Diane Dabbs born in Bloomington, IL on November 19, 1964 to Jerry and Jane Hoog. Susan was a graduate from Calvary Baptist Academy in Normal, IL in 1982, and completed her Bachelors of Social Work with high distinction in 1996 from Indiana University.

Susan married Howard Todd Dabbs on August 4, 1984 at Hope Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA. Susan is survived by her husband of 34 years, a son Anthony Todd & Faith (Fillingane) Dabbs of Lee’s Summit, MO, a daughter, Lauren Ashley (Dabbs) & Justin Reeves of Brandon, MS, one grandson, Noah Samuel Dabbs, granddaughters Addyson Mae Dabbs, and Elizabeth Kate Reeves, her parents of Alexandria, LA and a brother Steven Hoog, also of Alexandria. Her maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death.

In addition to being a devoted wife, a wonderful mother and delightful ‘grand-flower’ to her grandchildren, she enjoyed camping trips with her husband and moments with her family and friends. Susan’s faith in Christ as her Savior never wavered even to the end. Susan worked as a Medicaid Specialist for the State of Mississippi in Rankin County.

She was a member of The Pointe Church in Brandon, MS where she had so much love for the Pastor, music and the people who brought smiles and support to her on a daily basis.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends for a season, but we look forward to being with her throughout eternity where our family circle will once again be complete.
