Susan Wootton

Susan Pauline Wootton, 74, passed away on Mon. Sept. 26, 2022 at Merit Health Rankin Hospital in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 29, 2022 from 12pm-1:45pm at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm on Thurs. Sept. 29, 2022 at Crossgates Baptist Church  with burial to follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.

Susan was born in Jackson, MS on Aug. 23, 1948 to the late Joseph Crosley Ware and Pauline Freeman Ware. She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women and taught school for 50 years with most of this time in kindergarten. Susan was a member of the Rogue Social Club, Black List Honorary Club, Bunko/Lunch Bunch and The Club Fitness Ladies. She loved to interact with people and cared for her family and friends very much. Susan was a proud strong woman and she didn’t think anyone was better than her and she didn’t think she was better than anyone else. Her husband, Mike said that she will forever be his SWEETIE!

Susan is survived by her husband, Mike Wootton; daughter Heather Wootton Fairburn (Brandon); son, Josh Wootton (Jennifer); five grandchildren, Mattie Claire Williams, Emma Grace Williams, Roman Rad, Levi Wootton and Phoebe Wootton; two sisters, Mary Bean and Jo Ann McCall (Doug); mother in law, Elsie Wootton; sister in law, Patty Smith (Clyde) and brother in law, Mark Wootton (Amanda). Susan is also preceded in death by her grandchild, Georgia Wootton; father in law, George Wootton and a brother in law, Jim Bean.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activities Department at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center at 355 Crossgates Blvd. Brandon, MS 39042.
