Susan Steen Chamblee

Susan Steen Chamblee, 67, formerly of Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, April 4, 2015 with visitation starting at 10am at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, AL.
Ms. Chamblee was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, AL. She was a Majorette at Phillips High School 1962-1966. She attended the University of Alabama and received her Bachelor’s degree from UAB.
Ms. Chamblee was a member at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was very involved with her church serving in Peru on Mission trips, Stephen Ministry and she taught English as a second language at Dawson.
Susan worked with one of Birmingham’s first Woman’s Shelter, Toy Breed Rescue in Alabama, and she was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a world traveler and she owned and operated an Ad agency.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Klein (Jason) of Pearl, MS; grandchildren, Sadie Klein, Elisabeth Burris and Alexander Burris; and a nephew, Jared Jones. Ms. Chamblee was preceded in death by her parents, Gary Marshall Steen and Elizabeth Campbell Steen, and sisters, Patsy Steen Doar and Marsha Steen Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peru Missions Fund at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, AL.
