Suzanne Marie Collipp nee Pomana

She was born March 17, 1967, to Daniel and Theresa Pomana in Cheektowaga, New York, and raised in Sloan, a small Polish immigrant community suburb of Buffalo, New York. She was raised in her local church and accepted Christ at the age of fourteen. She graduated salutatorian of John F. Kennedy High School in 1985, after which she pursued a career in nursing. She graduated from Trocaire College as a Registered Nurse in 1987 and subsequently worked at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in Cheektowaga in the Critical Care units and Med-Surg floor. On August 22, 1992, she began dating her future husband David Carl Collipp. In 1993, she decided to further her knowledge of nursing and attended Daemen College in Buffalo. There, she proudly graduated with a 4.0 GPA for her Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1995. Later in 1995 she was united with David in marriage on June 29. During that time, they moved to Tupelo, Mississippi. In Tupelo, she was employed in the Surgical and Medical Intensive Care Units at North Mississippi Medical Center. Her educational pursuits continued while she attended Mississippi College School of Law, from which she graduated in the year 2000 summa cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. During the summer, while attending law school, she clerked for the U.S. Federal District Court Judge William H. Barbour, Jr., and upon graduation she worked at the Watkins Eager Law Firm in Jackson, Mississippi. After several years with the Watkins Eager Law Firm, she was offered the opportunity to return to work with Judge Barbour as his permanent clerk. She faithfully worked for him until his retirement in January 2019. After leaving that employment, she dedicated herself to her children and husband by providing a loving and supportive home. She was respected in her professional life in law and nursing, and admired in her community life. She substantially supported her children's school and athletic teams, several personally significant charities, her church, and her family. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Jackson from 2002 until she joined Lakeland Presbyterian Church in September 2021. Her greatest gifts were discernment, charity, and industriousness. In addition to loving her Lord, she loved her family, babies, animals, and flowers. She is survived by her husband David Carl, her children Lydia Estelle and Leah Christina Fay, her sister Sandy and husband Joe (DePaolo)of Eden, New York, nieces Stephanie Latawiec (nee Szpila), Rebekah Collipp, Naomi Collipp, Chloe Collipp, Anastasia Collipp,Isabella Collipp and nephews Brian Szpila, Peter Collipp, Samuel Collipp. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
