Sylvia Ann McKay Penick, 71, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at her daughters home. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 2, 2011, from 5 pm until 8 pm and starting at noon on Thursday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 pm Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Penick was born in Jackson on May 3, 1939 to James Henry McKay and Docia Lea George McKay. She was a member of Brandon First United Methodist Church. Sylvia loved antiques, gardening, especially flowers and she and her husband loved to travel. She loved people and was a mother to all.
Survivors include her husband, Aaron D. Penick of Flowood; children, Durell (Dana) Penick of Brandon and Stacy (Mark) Judy of Flowood; brother, Tom McKay (Faye) of Brandon and 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Jake Penick and Clark and Aaron Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Jim McKay.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Mississippi Division, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
