Mrs. Sylvia Ann Shedd Ragan

Sylvia Ann Ragan, age 62, a resident of the Branch Community passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Magee, MS. Her visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Monday, August 19, 2019 at New Liberty Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 9am Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at New Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Paul Smith, Bro. Jeremy Price and Bro. Andy Fullington will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Ragan was born in Rankin County on December 14, 1956. She loved being outdoors, especially working in her garden and flower beds. Sylvia Ann enjoyed cooking and her family spoke of her as, "outspoken and told it like she saw it." Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she loved watching them ride horses and play baseball. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joyce Shedd; daughter, Cassondra Ragan; sister, Edna Shedd; brother-in-law, Jerome Wilson.
She is survived by her mother, Emma Jean Watson Shedd; husband, John Ragan of Branch; 5 children, Nicholas Ragan (Jessica) of Brandon, Charlie Welch (Courtney) of Brandon, Casey Hall (Daniel) of Morton, Shelta Lewis (Morgan) of Magee and Sondra Ragan (Ernie) of Magee; 7 siblings, Cindy Welch, Betty Wilson, Rita Myers, Nita Payne, Roy Shedd, Ray Shedd and John Shedd; 10 grandchildren, McKenzie Ragan, Ann Maris Ragan, Karson Welch, Kennedy Welch, Destiney Hall, Joseph Hall, Madison Grantham, Lance "Brother" Lewis, Macie Ragan Lewis and Eli Mealer; and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made in her name and honor to New Liberty Baptist Church, 191 Measells Rd., Morton, MS 39117.
