Talmage Pace Anthony, 87, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 26, 2018. At his death, he was a resident at Trend Health & Rehab in Carthage, MS. He was a lifelong resident of the Hays Community near Sebastopol, MS.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Walters, Rev. Randall Creel, and Rev. Tim Fanguy officiating. Interment will follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at the church.
Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents: L. L. Anthony & Jeffie Pace Anthony; five brothers: Mark Anthony, Quinton Anthony, L.C. Anthony, Kirby Anthony, and Durwood Anthony; and two sisters: Verda Hardin and Clarris Waudene Anthony. He was also preceded in death by his first wife: Betty Jan Edwards Anthony and his second wife: Marlene Richardson Anthony.
He was a Christian man and was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church for over 70 years. During his service there, he held many church positions and served as a deacon for more than 50 years. He dearly loved the Lord, his family and his church.
Work experience included, carpenter/house builder and field service man for Green Acre Farms. He had poultry houses for many years and was a lifelong cattle farmer. His hobbies included gardening and yard work.
He is survived by one son: Tommy Anthony and wife Carlene of Sebastopol; one daughter: Kathy Anderson and husband Mike of Decatur; two grandchildren: Lea Anne Anthony of Sebastopol and Jennifer Pierce (Robbie) of Brandon; He is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Britt, Bree and Bella Pierce, all of Brandon.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Staff of Trend Health & Rehab of Carthage for their professional care.
