Tate Fortenberry Jr., 92, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A celebration of life will be held with visitation at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS on Friday, October 26, 2018 beginning at 9am with services beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Eureka Baptist Church near Pisgah.
Tate was a World War II veteran, a mason for 60 years, and retired from International Paper Company after 34 years.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Myrtle, known as “LOVE”, two daughters, Shirley Allen (Larry) and Patrice Bailey (Buddy); four grandchildren, Gregg Allen, Gretta Allen Madison (Turtle), Kayla Bailey Harris (Parker) and Morgan Tate Bailey; two great grandchildren, Laken and Kam Madison. Mr. Fortenberry is preceded in death by his parents, Tate Sr. and Nadine Fortenberry and three sisters, Ola Mae Dyess, Elizabeth Thompson, and Janice Jackson.
