Ted Peagler

August 8, 1928 — December 4, 2011

  Ted Herbert Peagler, 83, a resident of Morton died Saturday, December 03, 2011 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Morton Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held from 11am-2pm Sunday at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Gayden Harrell officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was be in charge of arrangements. 

  Mr. Peagler was a native of Scott Co. He was the son of Troy Madison and Lennye Thompson Peagler. He was married to Jimmie Nobles Peagler. Mr. Peagler was self-employed as a home builder for over 50 years. He was a member of the Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Peagler served his country in the United States Army. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.  

Mr. Peagler was preceded in death by his parents, Troy Madison and Lennye Thompson Peagler, wife, Jimmie Nobles Peagler, sister, Etoile Merchant and brother, Troy Peagler. 

  Mr. Peagler is survived by his daughter, Venita (Steve) Hollingsworth of Louisville; sisters, Melba Merchant of Morton and Estelle Hawley of Moss Point; grandson, Brad (Susan) Hollingsworth of Magee; 3 great grandchildren, Hank Hollingsworth, Kale Hollingsworth and Anna Leland; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at the VA Veterans Home in Kosciusko for all the love and care shown to Mr. Peagler. 

Services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton.
