Teresa Johnston Thomas, age 42, went to her eternal home on Monday
August 3, 2015. Funeral services were held at 10:00am on Friday, August 7, 2015 from the Ott and Lee Funeral home in Morton with Rev. Darby Combs, and Rev. Gary Wyatt officiating with interment at the North Morton Baptist Church Cemetery in Morton. Visitation was held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, August 6, 2015 and again on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 08:00am until service time at 10:00am.
Teresa Ann Johnston Thomas was a lifetime resident of Morton, Mississippi and she will be greatly missed. Born Teresa Ann Johnston on August 15, 1972, to loving parents Lamar and Sandra Johnston. Teresa grew up in the small town of Morton Mississippi on East Second Street. She welcomed home two loving baby brothers and enjoyed playing with her many cousins and visiting her grandparent’s home. She was the apple of her Grandfather Johnston’s eye and he always kept a special cabinet of treats just for her. She loved her family and always enjoyed the time spent with them. Vacations and family reunions held treasured memories of playing in the swimming pool and rounds of miniature golf. Teresa loved to shop, and loved talking on the phone, enjoyed Face Book, as well as animals, dogs were her favorite and she loved plants.
Teresa was married for many years to Marshall Denson of Morton. In 1991 Teresa and Marshall welcomed their daughter Kimberly into the world. Later in life Teresa found a soul mate in Derrick Thomas and they were married in May of 2009. Derrick and Teresa would go on to have a daughter Avery (6) and a son Zachary (2).
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clifton and Estelle Johnston, and her maternal grandfather, Howard Palmer.
Teresa leaves behind three children; daughter Kimberly Morgan (Ryan); sons, Avery Thomas, and Zach Thomas and three grandchildren, Cameron Morgan, Landon Morgan, and Aleah Morgan that she loved very much. She is survived by her parents Edward Lamar and Sandra Palmer Johnston of Pearl; brothers, Richard Johnston (Adriana) of Richland and Timothy Johnston (Diana) of Brandon; her maternal grandmother, Mattie Palmer of Morton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Homes, Inc., in Morton.
