Teressa (Terri) Fortenberry

Terri Fortenberry Brandon, MS Teressa (Terri) Lynn Fortenberry, 57, of Brandon, MS, died Saturday, September 27, 2014. Terri was born in Jackson, attended schools there, and received her BS degree from the Mississippi University for Women. Her first position was with Employers Mutual Companies, having responsibility for personal lines insurance for the states of Mississippi and Tennessee. She had found her field, and continued to work in insurance for the next thirty-five years, at agencies in Jackson, Flowood, and Ridgeland, as well as Mobile, Ala. She was a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Professional Service Representative (CPSR), completed INS 21, 22, and 23, and held her Agent license and Surplus Lines license. Terri is survived by her mother, Diane Dawson Fortenberry, of Brandon, MS; a sister, Cheryl Diane Fortenberry, and her husband, Michael House, of London, UK; and two brothers, Rance Fortenberry, of Santa Rosa, CA, and Steven and his wife Diane Fortenberry, of Santa Clara, CA, as well as her father, Ralph M. Fortenberry, of Prentiss, MS. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews to whom she remained close throughout her life. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Cathedral in Jackson. Visitation will be Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 12 noon at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS, with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. The family would like to thank the ICU nurses at St. Dominic Hospital for their care of Terri as well as the staff of Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland for their excellent service.
