Terry Clark

December 11, 1945 — March 25, 2019

Terry Glynn Clark, 73, left his earthly home in the early morning hours of March 25th, 2019.

Terry was born on December 11, 1945, in Walnut Grove, MS. He was a resident of Pelahatchie and a 1964 graduate of Pelahatchie High School. He went on to graduate from Mississippi College with a degree in Secondary Education, specialized in mathematics, and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Upon gradation, Terry immediately entered the public school system where he remained for over 30 years teaching mathematics and coaching various sports. Professionally, Terry was affectionately known as Coach Clark. He spoke lovingly of his time at Utica High School where he won various championships in Football and Track and Field. He also had a special place in his heart for the students and faculty at Mississippi School for the Deaf. While at MSD, he won the 8 man championship in Football and revitalized deaf education. Coach Clark took pride in his football fields and spent countless hours in the summer prepping his fields for the football season. Coach Clark was passionate about his faith and was an active member in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization, where he led countless amounts of students to Christ. Terry was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, where he previously taught adult Sunday school and was involved in the deaf ministry.

Terry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Irvin Dale and Laura (Green) Clark and his brother in law, Kevin Sherrill and nephew Jason Sherill. He is survived by his daughters, Courtnie (Jared) Lindsey of Franklinton, LA and Kristen (Jeremy) Shivers of Pelahatchie. Six grandchildren Bailee, Gray, Barrett, Selah, Silas, and Asher. His three siblings, a twin brother, Jerry (Sharon) of Madison, and his two sisters, Janet (Mike) of Canton, and Sandra of Brandon. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loyal pups Baxter and Daisy.
