The family of Terry Wayne Russell will celebrate his life with a gathering of remembrance among family and friends in the spring of 2021.

Terry Wayne Russell was born on Saturday, March 21,1959 and was a native of Scott County. He was a longtime resident of Birmingham, AL before relocating to Forest several years ago.

A simple man, he will be remembered for his faith, his family, his favorite hobbies, and his service to his country, which allows this nation to enjoy its’ freedom today. Mr. Russell was a Baptist by faith, one of four children born to Charles Kenneth Russell and Mary Helen Greer Conn. He was the widower of Mrs. Vanessa Crosby Russell, and a brother to Kenneth, Tim, and Melissa.

Favorite hobbies were those affiliated with wood working and carpentry skills. Terry had a passion for sports, particularly, football, and specifically, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide – Roll Tide! He served his country in the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged.

He passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the age of 61.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Vanessa Crosby Russell and his father: Charles Kenneth Russell.

Survivors include his mother: Mrs. Mary Helen Greer Conn of Forest; two brothers: Kenneth (Debbie) Russell of Pearl and Tim (Rachel) Russell of Forest; one sister: Melissa (Mecridric) Calloway of Philadelphia; four nieces and three great-nieces and three great-nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 295 East First St., Forest, served the Russell family in making final arrangements.
