Thelma Jones Hollingsworth, age 84, a resident of Lake, died Tuesday November 26, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday November 30, 2013 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment to follow in the Goodhope Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Friday November 29, 2013 and again Saturday November 30, 2013 from noon until the service time. Rev. Harold Laird, Dr. Leon Everett, Bro. Bill Pitman and Rev. Scott Fortenberry will officiate.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was born in Eden, MS on November 26, 1929 to her parents, John Thomas Jones and Alice Virginia Gilmore Jones. She had lived in the Lake area most of her life. Prior to her retirement she had worked in the restaurant business. She was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church in Lake. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and loved cooking for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband; Jesse Paul Hollingsworth, SR and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include 5 children; Peggy L. Weeks (Freddie) of Forest, Patrica P. Harbour (Michael,deceased) of Meridian, Jesse Paul Hollingsworth (Rita) of Forest, Janet Harmon (Randy) of Lake, and Tommy L. Hollingsworth (Stephanie) of Brandon. She is also survived by 1 sister; Myrtle E. Renfroe of Anchorage, AK and 2 brothers; Melvin E. Jones of New Waverly, TX and Louis A. Jones of a Huntsville, TX and she also leaves a legacy of 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Barry Parker, Neil Parker, Rutz Hollingsworth, Buddy Hollingsworth, Hannah Hollingsworth, Corrie Hollingsworth, Lori Hollingsworth, Jeremy Harmon. Honorary pallbearers are Jessica Weeks, Rachel Smith, Josh McCann, Matt McCann, Chris Weeks, Justin Harmon, Trevor Hollingsworth and Alexis Hollingsworth.
