Thelma S. Jones, age 84, a resident of Forest died Friday March 10, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Monday March 13, 2017 from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Interment will follow at Harperville Memorial Park. Dr. Gordon Sansing and Dr. Joe Pate will officiate. Visitation will also be held Monday March 13, 2017 from 12pm til the service time at 2pm.
Mrs. Jones was born in Scott County on Friday September 23, 1932 to her parents John Sessions and Myrtie Loper Sessions. She was a lifelong resident of this area, where she later married her husband, Andrew Quitman Jones. She worked as an optometry assistant to Dr. Wright in Forest until her retirement. Both she and her late husband were active in the Forest Baptist Church for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Andrew Q. Jones, a brother; J.L. Sessions and a grandson; Rodney Jones, Jr. (stillborn).
Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte J. Hudson (Bill) of Brandon, a son; Rodney Jones (Lori) of Berhoud, CO. one sister; Bobbie Meaders of Foxworth, MS. two brothers; Curtis Sessions of Kingwood, TX and Charlie Sessions of Midland, TX. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; Jason Hudson (Christy), Joy Hudson Taylor (Nathan), Ryan Jones, Allison Jones Brown (Kevin) and one great grandchild; Drew Hudson.
Pallbearers are Mark Jones, Ryan Jones, James Reeves, Nathan Taylor, Jason Hudson and Bob Smiley.
