Thelma Overby Murray, 87, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS with her family by her side. Visitation was 5-8 pm Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services were 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Fannin with visitation starting at 10:00 am at the church. Interment followed in First Baptist Church of Fannin Cemetery. Dr. Ron Bird officiated the service.
Mrs. Murray was born in Puckett, MS on December 15, 1926, to Alex and Flower Lee Cook Overby. She was preceded in death by Johnny Dewitt; parents, Alex and Flower Lee Overby; sisters, Merlyn Clark, Gladys Parks, Lucille Wilson and Wynnie Bottoms.
Survivors include her children, Wayne(Cindy) Murray of Fannin, MS, Rob (Pat) Murray of Harrah, OK, and Jackie Farris of Fannin, MS; her brother, Bud (Liz) Overby; grandchildren, Shannon (Chad) Horton, Jeri Cox, Mark (Julie) Murray, Craig (Kimberly) Murray, Whitney McMaster and Tryce Smith; and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kirby Wilson, Mark Murray, Craig Murray, Chad Horton, Tryce Smith and Perry Overby. Honorary Pallbearers were her friends and family at FBC Fannin.
