Thomas Barnes, Sr.

THOMAS JOE BARNES,SR. age 70 and a resident of Lake died Friday February 20, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 1pm Sunday February 22, 2015 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5pm-8pm Saturday February 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Evangelist Josh Patat and Pastor David Wilson officiated.

Mr. Barnes was born in Laurel, MS on February 24, 1944 to his parents Joe Frank Barnes and Della Dee Logan Barnes. He had lived in this area for 39 years moving from Biloxi. He retired from McCarty Farms in 1997 as a farm manager.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Joe Frank Barnes and a sister; Susie Barnes.

Survivors include his wife, Fay S. Barnes of Lake, MS and his first wife; Edna F. Reid of Youngstown, FL. Six children; Penny Bauman (Ron) of Marietta, GA Brenda McCann (Kenneth ) of Forest, MS. Ricky Boyington of Olive Springs, MS. Tammy Gilmer of Flowood, MS. Tommy Barnes, JR. of Lake, MS. and Diane Reid (Rocky) of Union, MS. He is also survived by one sister; Nancy Logan of Morton, MS. Mr. Barnes also leaves a legacy of ten grandchildren; April Myers, Justin Myers, Joshua Barnes, Zachary Bauman, Lynn Warkentin, Cole Barnes, Heather McCann, Rocky Reid, JR and Kenneth Reid, Thomas Joe "Little T" Barnes, III and three great grandchildren; Jackie Myers, Timmy Warkentin and Kristi Warkentin.

Pallbearers were Rocky Reid, Kenneth Reid, Justin Myers, Zachary Bauman, Cole Barnes and Shane Camble.







Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
