Thomas Courtney

Thomas “Tom” Emile Courtney, age 81, of Brandon, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 12:00pm from Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon with Dr. Steve Jussley officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3:00pm at Prentiss Cemetery in Prentiss, MS. Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon.

He was born in Columbia, MS on August 27, 1937 to the late Emile Norris Courtney and Tommie Ruth Allen Courtney.

Tom and Rachel spent many years traveling in the U.S. and abroad. He was an avid MSU Bulldog alumnus, a retired Sergeant Major in the Army National Guard. He was a longtime member of the Lakeland Presbyterian Church Choir. Tom was very devoted to his family, very unselfish, and enjoyed serving others.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Williams Courtney; daughter, Lisa Locke (David); son, Grant Courtney; two grandchildren, Courtney Locke Wilson (Taylor) and Jesse Williams Locke; two great0grandchildren, Judson Charles Wilson and Malissa Anne Wilson.
