Thomas E. Dement, Sr

Thomas E. Dement, Sr, age 76, and resident of Walnut Grove died Sunday, March 30, 2025, at St. Dominic Hospital following a brief illness.

Visitation will be held from 12pm Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, with graveside services to follow in the Sebastopol Cemetery with Bryan Cirlot officiating.

Thomas was born on August 8, 1948, in Ovette, MS to his parents Hugh Dement and Ethel Landrum Dement. He later served in the Army. He worked as a truck driver. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors, as well as traveling. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents,  and siblings, Mary Anne Snellgrove, Frances Arcola Daker, Jewel Trest, and Huey Dement.

He is survived by his sons, David Dement and Thomas “Ted” Dement, Jr. (Angela), sisters; Norma Merchant, Stella McGomery, Ellen Ross Gould, Dorothy Brand, Mertle Brand, Daisy McCloud, Mike Dement, Pat Dement, and one grandchild, River Dement, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
