It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our entire family announces the untimely passing of Thomas Y Doty, our beloved “Tommy”, on November 19, 2016 at age 44. Beloved husband and best friend of Sandy Doty, (Taylor) for 15 wonderful, memory-filled years and the cherished and proud father of 2 daughters, Rayna (13), Harper (10) and 1 son Cain (8).
Tommy was the devoted son of Guy Lamb Sr. and Betty Grace Doty and treasured son-in-law to Bob and Laura Taylor; Loving brother of Guy Lamb Jr. (Cindy); Bryan; and David (Barbie); sister, Suzanne (Sandy), and aunt, Ann Burks. Tommy will be sadly missed by numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Our gentle affectionate giant will always be fondly remembered for his devotion to his three wonderful children, and his loving wife Sandy. These four were the center of his universe. Moreover, Tommy will be missed for his proclivity to make others laugh and the way he made others feel good about themselves. Tommy lived his life on his terms, enjoying simple things, like a beautiful day, valuing the time, attention and affection of his family, friends and dogs and constantly verbalizing the gratitude he felt for a wonderful life. He will be remembered for his mastery of the grill and his world famous red beans and rice. Tommy touched so very many lives with his affable nature, ever present smile and self-deprecating sense of humor. The unofficial U S Ambassador to Saskatchewan, Tommy was loved by all he met in Canada especially those collecting lost golf balls. We will all miss your humble happy nature and the way you made all around you feel so valued. Tommy’s enthusiasm for the New Orleans Saints, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ole Miss football and life in general was a constant source of delight for all who were privileged enough to know him. Taken from us far too soon.
In lieu of flowers, the family humbly suggests donations can be made in his memory to The American Heart Association or Community Animal Rescue and Adoption “CARA”.
