Thomas Victor "Vic" Murphey III, Brandon, MS
Thomas Victor “Vic” Murphey III, 59, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Sat. Jan. 28, 2012 from 5pm.-7pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm. Sun. January 29, 2012 at the Brandon First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Brandon Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Murphey was a native of Newton, Miss., and was presently a self-employed accountant. He had retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the military after 23 years of service and was a former banker and Mayor of Pelahatchie. He attended several colleges and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Banking. He was a member of Brandon First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Murphey of Brandon; children, Greg Murphey and wife Pam of Flowood, Mandi Henderson and husband Derrick of Brandon, Beau Murphey of Brandon and Beau’s fiancée, Katie Watkins of Madison; granddaughters, Megan and Abby Murphey of Flowood, Tyler and Drew Henderson of Brandon; brother, Glen Murphey and wife Sidney Carol of Pascagoula; sister-in-law, Rosie Murphey of Brandon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Victor Murphey Jr. and Helen Murphey and a brother, Barry Murphey.
