Thomas Frederick “Buck” Odom, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.  A memorial service will be at 2:00pm Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with visitation starting at 12:30pm prior. 
 
Mr. Odom was born in D’Lo, MS to Thomas F Odom, Sr. and Viola Catherine Sullivan Odom on April 22, 1929.   He graduated from Magee High School where he met his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Nell Latham.  Thomas was reared in Sanatorium, MS and he graduated and played football for Mississippi State University, where he received his Bachelor Degree in engineering.  He was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. 
Mr. Odom then went on to serve 24 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Mechanical Engineer and also worked 10 years at Vickers, Inc. before his retirement.  He was a member of Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church in Ridgeland, MS for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Latham Odom; daughters, Corrie Jane Odom of Durham, N.C. and Leslie Odom Graham (Mike) of Brandon; granddaughter, Karen Elizabeth Graham, affectionately known to him as (Puddin’ Pie); brother, Carl E. Odom of Hattiesburg, MS; three nephews; 2 nieces and a close family friend, Carol Matteson.
