Thomas L. Scott

Thomas L. “Tom” Scott, 71, passed away Tues. Aug. 7, 2018 at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation will be held on Sat. Aug. 11, 2018 from 11am-12:45pm at Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 1pm at Brandon Baptist Church with burial in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.

Tom was born and raised in Franklin County, MS and has been a resident of Brandon, MS for the past 36 years. He was a charter member, a deacon and faithful servant of Brandon Baptist Church and was also active in the church choir. Tom loved his family very much and adored his grandchildren in which he spent most of his weekends at a ballfield supporting them in all of their sports. It was said of Tom that “He loved God, loved his family and liked work”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Scott; daughter, Brittney Scott Bynum (Chris); grandchildren, Braxton Scott Bynum and Latham Christopher Bynum; sister, Sheila Scott Dover (Gordon); brother, Raymond Keith Scott (Wanda) and several nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by his parents,  Alex J. and Emily Clanton Scott.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund at 100 Brandon Baptist Dr. Brandon, MS 39042.
