Thomas Robbins Beard of Brandon, Mississippi passed away at the age of 78 on February 1, 2022. Rob, as he was known to his close friends and family, was born April 25, 1943. He moved to Brandon from Forest, Mississippi and entered Brandon High School as a Freshman. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1961. He earned two Bachelor Degrees in his lifetime from Mississippi College and Belhaven University and later retired from his job at the Internal Revenue Service. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Rob. He loved being at his barn, enjoying the beautiful sunsets and visiting with great company. He was an avid storyteller and always helped ease the hard times with a funny story or joke that would leave you laughing. He loved watching football with his grandchildren and was always trying new recipes for the family. He will be greatly missed by all the Andrew Chapel community and those who love him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas H. And Gladys Beard, by his half-brother, Beverly Ray Beard, by his Uncle, Henry Woody Jones, and his Aunt, Grace Logan Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Tara Beard Olmsted (Husband Todd) and sister, Maggie Jane Beard Greer. He has five grandchildren, William Leighton Bristow ( Wife Cara), Benjamin Carson Bristow, Victoria Robbins Bristow, Todd Ralph Olmsted (Wife Danielle), and Andrew Dylan Olmsted. He also has 2 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 1 nephew.
Visitation will be February 13, 2022 at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 P.M.
