SERVICE: 10 AM THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, IN THE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH BURIAL IN FLORAL HILLS MEMORY GARDENS IN PEARL.
Tommie Jean Chapman Evans was born in Laurel, MS August 18, 1935. She died October 18, 2010, at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation is Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 4 pm until 7 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10 am Thursday, Oct. 21 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Mrs. Chapman lived in the Pearl/Brandon area for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her former husband, James (Jim) Chapman and her daughter, Teena Chapman Bynum.
Mrs. Chapman was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Pearl. She served as their secretary for a number of years. She enjoyed a professional career as an Executive Secretary, retiring from Southern Beverage Company after a lengthy service.
Mrs. Chapman was an avid golfer and a member of Bay Pointe Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, James O. “Bobby” Evans; grandsons, Robert Hilton “Trey” Bynum and Timothy Bynum both of Brandon; step daughters, Janet Tunure (Doug) of Seattle, WA and Sheila Seiving (Quad) of Little Rock, AR; and her sister, Jimmie Blackledge of Brandon.
