Tommie Culliver

Tommie Jean Culliver was born November 20, 1928 in Raleigh, and went to be with her Lord on February 11, 2018 at MS Care Center in Raleigh at the age of 89.

Tommie Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband: Robert R. Culliver; parents: Thomas James Newcomb and Matilda Williamson Newcomb; and siblings: Winnie Mae Newcomb Thornton and Ludie Rae Newcomb Thornton.

She is survived by one niece: Betty Thornton Gaskin and her husband, Manuel; and nephews: Doug Thornton, Paul Thornton and his wife: Susan; Keith Thornton and his wife: Linda; and Mike Thornton and his wife: Penny; one sister-in-law: Bobbie McKay Culliver, who was also her good friend.

Tommie Jean enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. She taught piano for many years.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from Union Baptist Cemetery at Raleigh with the Rev. Rich Ables officiating under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
