Tommie Glen McNaughten, 90, of Silsbee, TX passed away on October 18, 2024.
Born in Fairdale, Texas to Theo Lawson and William Gethern McNaughten, Glen came from a long line of Texans, counting back for at least ten generations. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Wayne McNaughten.
Glen lived a full and meaningful life, dedicated to his family and his love of nature. He especially cherished long walks in the woods, observing and identifying the rich variety of plant and animal life. Many hours were spent roaming the trails in the Sandyland Sanctuary and along Village Creek. Glen proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Glen is survived by his beloved daughters, Glenda Carol Bailey (Billy) of Brandon, MS and Sheryll Ann Plaia Snider (George) of Beaumont, TX, as well as his grandchildren: Roscoe Joss McNaughten, Derek Anthony Plaia, Colby William Plaia (Hannah), Ayla Re’ Smith, and Jillian Anne Plaia Citrano (Ryan); and 3 great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness will continue to live on through them and all who knew him.
A gathering of his family and friends will occur at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024 with a memorial service honoring Glen’s life at First Assembly of God Church 950 Hwy 96 South, Silsbee, TX 77656.
Reverend R. Scott Briggs and wife Kathy Stout Briggs will officiate the service. A private family gathering at Rest Haven Cemetery will follow.
Glen will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and his deep connection to the natural world. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God church Silsbee, TX.
