A celebration of life for Tommie “Lil’ Sharecropper” Weeks will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Chapel. Private interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
There will be no graveside service.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon and continue until 1:45 pm Saturday prior to the celebration.
Tommie was born September 1, 1972 in Jackson and passed away December 24, 2018 at his residence.
“Lil’ Sharecropper” as he was known by family and friends will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to the trucking profession, and his perfectionist ways. Tommie’s character was defined by his big smile, firm handshake, and his honesty among others. He loved music, and was an excellent cook. His love for his family will live on in the lives of those he left behind, and will be remembered as a special brother. He was a truck driver, which was his life passion, with ADD Trucking, and was a member of Hazel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents: James Edward & Sandra Kay Jones Weeks.
Survivors include one daughter: Alyssa Weeks of Stewart; one grandchild: Preslee Alaine Weeks; two sisters: Deborah Morris and April Weeks; one brother: Walter Shane Weeks; mother of Alyssa: Lisa Palmertree; several nieces and nephews; a special friend: Elizabeth Putman of Union, and a host of co-workers, friends, and family at ADD Trucking.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Loper, Ricky Alford, Ricky Freshour, Wade Vaughn, Charlie Russell, Joe Williamson, Josh Brooks, and Chris Mooney.
Listed as honorary pallbearers are Aaron Davidson, Doyle Herrington, Shelton Porter, Dustin Dipuma, Austin Kyzar, and Shane Johnston.
Services are being provided by the staff and directors of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
