Tommy Joe Jones, 80, of Raleigh, Ms, passed away at Hospice Ministries on January 11, 2014 after a fight against Parkinson's Disease.
He was born November 8, 1933. He attended Raleigh High School and graduated from Jones Junior College where he played on the football team.
He went on to serve in the United States Air Force and the Korean War. After his service, he made his home in Vicksburg where he started his business, Tommy Jones Exterminating.
After retirement, he moved to Flowood, Ms, where he made Pinelake his church home, where he accepted Jesus and became a member of the Truth Seekers.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and making candy for all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma C. Jones, his father, Julius C. Jones, his brothers, Bobby C. Jones (Jo), and Charles H. Jones (Whizzby).
He is survived by children, Debbie Thornton (Terry), and Gary Jones (Kim), and his grandchildren, Dakota Moore (Heather), and Chelsea Berry (Parker), Cheri Snow (Steven), and Amber Cooper.
Sisters, Nell Klepac (Bob), Martha Bartz (Bill), Dorothy Wright (Joe), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are taken care of by Ott and Lee in Brandon, Ms. Visitation is Saturday, 1/11/14, from 4-7pm, and Sunday, 1/12/14, at 1pm with funeral services to follow at 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial to follow at 3:30pm in the South Raleigh Cemetery in Raleigh, Ms. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tommy Jones at Hospice Ministries, Inc., 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, Ms, 39157.
