Tony Holeman Sr. passed away September 16, 2020 from sudden heart failure. Tony was born February 12, 1956 in Jackson, Mississippi and lived in the Rankin County area most of his life. He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Edward Holeman and mother, Ethel Ray Prince. He was the fourth of six children and precedes them in death. (Billy Carpenter, Bobbie White, Timothy “Bo” Holeman, Denice Hardin and Candy Robertson)
Tony presented the image of the traditional cowboy with a rugged exterior but a soft interior proven by the fact he cared for everyone he met and understood friendship was more than a word. When he gave his word it came with integrity and commitment. Tony was also committed to his large family. He enjoyed taking trips to the mountains with his brothers and sisters and enjoyed family reunions and other outings with those he cared about. He worked at Siemens in Richland for over 43 years and built relationships with his fellow employees that held special meaning in his life.
He understood that a man is judged by the ones he leaves behind. Tony found some of his greatest pleasures came from watching his children grow up and become parents. He took every opportunity to share the small things with his children and grandchildren. He spent his time as a father enjoying the outdoors, attending athletic events, and enjoying rodeo life with his three children Tony Holeman Jr., Susan Hollingsworth, and Dana Grice. He also embraced his role as “Pepaw”. He leaves behind ten grandchildren who knew he would attend their athletic events, derby races, birthday parties, and other special events. He was recently blessed with his first great-grandchild. The special events will be remembered by his friends and family, but many future stories will come from his random acts of kindness and the times when he could make a simple UNO game a memory that will last forever.
Pallbearers are Matt Grice, Derek Holeman, Dexter Holeman, Tony Holeman Jr., Tray Holeman, Brad Hollingsworth, Hank Hollingsworth, and Kale Hollingsworth.
