Troy Johnson, 72, acquired his angel wings and was swept up to meet his Heavenly Father on Sun. June 17, 2018. Visitation will be held on Wed. June 20, 2018 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Thurs. Mr. Johnson was born on April 21, 1946 in Union, MS and also lived in Forest, MS. He met and married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Estes on May 29, 1965. To this union were born two sons, Troy Johnson Jr. (Ginger) and Brian Johnson (Maegan); 6 grandchildren, Kristen Elliot, Olivia Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Hayden Johnson and Karlee Johnson; three great grandchildren and one on the way: Salem, Corbin and Hadleigh. He is also survived by three brothers: twin Roy, Clint and Bobby Johnson and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Johnson’s hobbies were fishing, boating and driving his Kabota tractor. Troy was a workaholic and a perfectionist. His work traits were always done to perfection and he expected that from others. After meeting Troy you would never forget him. He was very opinionated, direct and to the point, yet gentle as a lamb when it came to his grandchildren. He loved them with every fiber in his bones and they always knew how to work their Papaw. They had him wrapped around their finger.
Mr. Johnson would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. Church, God, and family were Troy’s life. He loved the Lord with all his heart, mind and soul and his family was the center of his life. Troy had been ill for the past 2 years with his wife by his side 24/7 as his caregiver. She worked tirelessly around the clock taking care of his every need.
The family would like to offer Dr. Michael Albert special thanks and praise. He was not only Troy’s doctor but a special friend for over 25 years. Dr. Albert went above and beyond the call of duty taking care of Troy. Blessings from above to you for endless care and devotion you provided for this awesome man. Also, a special thanks to the Camellia Home Health Staff. These people always demonstrated kindness, sympathy, and understanding to Troy. Their expertise and knowledge surpasses any we have ever known. Thank you again. As we lay our love one to rest we would cherish your prayers for those of us who are left to mourn his passing, but we are grateful he is in a better place free of the suffering.
