Troy Edward "Ed" Traxler

Mr. Edward Traxler, age 81, a resident of Morton, but the Polkville Community, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.  Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 9am-10:45am Wednesday at the funeral home.  Services will be held 11am Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with Bro. Jerry Lewis, Bro. Jeremy Price and Bro. Brent Wade officiating.  Burial will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Troy was born in Polkville, MS on July 19, 1940.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, riding horses and enjoying nature.  Troy loved his family very much and his grandkids were the apple of his eye.  His big smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy W. Traxler and Rachael Traxler; infant son, Charles E. Traxler; 1st wife, Fredna Beatty Traxler; brothers, Paul David Traxler and Jack Traxler; sisters, Becky Neal and Jane Denson; brother-in-law, Vernon Beatty and wife Dorothy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Barkley Traxler of Polkville; daughters, Karen Wade (Eddie) and Sharon “Dee Dee” Walker (Ricky); sister Rena Traxler Wood (Marvin); sisters-in-law, Vickie Adcox (Mack), Carol Traxler and Frances Phillips; brothers-in-law, James Denson and Lester Beatty (Shirley); special nephew, Mike Pruitt (Tonya); great niece, Kady Pruitt; 6 grandchildren, Brent Wade (Casey), Chris Wade (Rochelle), Trey Glaze (Kasee Carter), Candi Graham (Clint), Kristen James (JJ) and Shaun Walker; 14 great grandchildren, Drew Walker, Jacob Walker, Isabelle Graham, Savannah Russell, Rosie Graham, Christina Wade, Rachel Wade, Troy Wade, John Graham, James Graham, Lily Wade, Ruby Wade, Aubrey James and Gracelynn James; a host of other family member, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mike Pruitt, Chris Wade, Trey Glaze, Will Denson, Richie Denson, Scott Sellers, Neal Wood and Courtney Buckelew.
