Funeral services for Mr. Van Earl McMillan will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Eastern Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
Van Earl McMillan was born Saturday, August 6, 1955 at Lackey Memorial Hospital and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home.
He will be remembered as a simple man who loved his family and was a farmer by profession, particular in the poultry and cattle industry. Beyond his love for farming, riding horses and bowling were two of his favorite past times. He was a Baptist by faith and held membership with the East Forest Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Owen Freeman and Frances McDill McMillan and one nephew: John Wilson McMillan.
Survivors include his wife of over 37 years: Mrs. Gail McMillan of Forest; three daughters: Vanna Gail McMillan of Gulfport; Amber Lynn McMillan of Memphis, TN and Morgan Owen McMillan of Forest; two brothers: Steve (Faye) McMillan and Terry (Sarah) McMillan, both of Forest; one special aunt: Reba McDill Hatch of Newton; eight nieces and four nephews also survive.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Peoples, Steven Peoples, Caleb Cox, Heath Clark, Ted Hollingsworth, and Brandon Moore.
Honorary pallbearers include Kerry Hammons, Bruce McMillan, Donald Cox, and Stanley Barnett.
