Arline Cloud, 96, of Forest MS and formerly of Pensacola, FL died July 19 at Woodland Court Personal Care Home in Newton, MS.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Visitation will precede the services from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. in Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, FL., to include an Order of Eastern Star ceremony conducted by members of Myrtle Grove Chapter 302.
Mrs. Cloud was born September 6, 1914 in Jacksonville, FL to the late John Thomas and Lilly Ophelia Knight. She was preceded in death by husband, Edward Jessup Cloud and brothers Thomas E. Knight and Walter L. Knight.
She is survived by son Thomas Edward Cloud (Lois) of Slidell, LA.; daughter Sandra Faye Lovett (Bill) of Forest, MS.; grandsons Christopher Allen Cloud and Richard Edward Cloud (Sandy) of Memphis, TN; granddaughters Laura Lovett (Michael Dietrich) of Hanover, NH; and Terrin Irwin (Brent) of San Diego, CA; great- granddaughters Lydia and Arlena Lovett-Dietrich ,and Annika Irwin.
Mrs. Cloud taught first grade at Allie Yniestra Elementary School prior to opening the Jack and Jill Kindergarten in West Pensacola. She also managed the cafeteria staff at P. K Young Middle School for a number of years, and briefly co-owned a catering business.
Mrs. Cloud lived in Pensacola 70 years before moving to Forest to live near her daughter after her health began to fail. She was a member of Forest United Methodist Church in her later years. In Pensacola, she and her husband were charter members of the Brownsville Baptist Mission that later became Brownsville Baptist Church, and she was the only surviving original member. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years and was active in women’s missions. She was a 50-year member in the Order of Eastern Star and held the office of Worthy
Matron for West Pensacola Chapter No 252.
Her family expresses deepest gratitude to the caring staff of Woodland Court Personal Care Center in Newton.
